On Saturday 25 March, attendees enjoyed the annual NZIBS March Training Day 2017 at Novotel Airport Hotel, at Auckland International Airport.

Those that attended the sold-out event enjoyed an array of fabulous speakers, topics specific to new business opportunities, catching up with colleagues, and lots of talking with our fabulous sponsors and trade stand holders.

The day ended with the infamous ‘Sponsors Networking Session’, where we drew a door prize kindly donated by one of our Elite sponsors; Resene Construction. The door prize was a: Windows 10 Convertible 11.6” 32GB laptop (the best door prize we have seen in years!). Many delegates held their breath when it was drawn…with the winner being: Graham Englund from Babbage Ltd. Graham was elated and was beaming with joy, “this is the first time I have ever won a prize.”.

Well done Graham!

“What success – the fifth March Training Day was a good event from which I had the chance to network with the attendees.”

So says Daniel Paul, Director of The PR Company, who is one of the Institute’s event sponsors. He hosted a tradestand among others, such as Resene Construction and GIB.

Held on 25 March at the Novotel Airport Hotel, Conference Centre, NZIBS President Trevor Jones began the day with a welcome and promising a full-on day of thought-provoking discussions.

Following lunch, Daniel spoke at length about how to reach your target market and how you can successfully work with local media to boost business.

“Everybody could use a little help to solve marketing communications problems, and I spoke with many event attendees who were interested in promoting themselves and their products and services more effectively.

“The event wasn’t just valuable for them, but for me too; the opportunity to network with so many people in the building and construction industry was hugely appreciated.”

Daniel estimates there were well over 120 people in attendance, and he wasn’t surprised either with such an array of expert speakers.

In addition to the stimulating talks, Resene Construction donated a Windows 10 Convertible 11.6” 32GB laptop as door prize.

With baited breath, Registered NZIBS Member of Babbage Ltd, Graham Englund, was pleasantly surprised to win.

NZIBS General Manager Sally Dunbar praised members, sponsors, speakers and delegates who attended the event.
