NZIBS Diploma in Building Surveying – ISO9001: 2015 (level 5) – Core Module Training Programme 2018

Our building surveyors master a rigorous training programme which is part of the NZIBS Transitional Membership career pathway to becoming a Registered Building Surveyor.

The NZIBS Core Module training programme covers building law, forensic investigation, building science, material performance, construction methods, building remediation, technical report writing and expert witness work, and more.

The below block courses will run fully in Auckland and in part, in Christchurch in 2018.

The course duration ranges from 1 – 2 days, with an examination at the end of the Core Module training day.

The Core Module Programme 2018 is open for registrations – you can attend any of the Core Module training courses anytime throughout the year.

You do not have to be a NZIBS Member to attend a Core Module training course.

The registration form outlines the dates, location and cost, these details are located at the programme.

We will be running the remaining modules as noted below, in Christchurch;

Module 6: Wednesday 24 – Thursday 25 October 2018

Module 7: Wednesday 21 November 2018

Module 10A: Thursday 22 November 2018

Registrations close for the above modules two weeks prior to the date of the training.

Pre-course reading will be released after registrations close.

We require a minimum of 10 attendees for the training to go ahead.

The NZIBS Core Module Training Programme 2019, will be released at the NZIBS Annual Conference at the end of September 2018, in Rotorua.

We highly recommend that you ideally become a NZIBS Transitional Member before starting the Core Module Training Programme.

NZIBS Members and non members can attend the above training courses. CPD points are applicable.

You do not have to be a NZIBS Member to attend a Core Module training course.

Once you have completed all ten Core Module training courses and the associated examinations you can chose to apply for the NZIBS Diploma in Building Surveying ISO9001:2015 certificate.

NZIBS Core Module Training Criteria

For a NZIBS Core Module Course to run we require a minimum of 10 participants, with a maximum of 20 participants. Notice will be given 10 business days prior if the course is unable to run, due to attendance numbers.

To be eligible for the NZIBS Member registration rate, you need to be a current NZIBS full, transitional or student Member.

Payment is required upfront before the commencement of the module and/or before the close of registration.

Pre-course reading will be released the day after the registration closure date and to those who have paid for their training.

No refund will be given for any cancellation 10 days and under prior to a core module course date. A substitute can be provided in place of the person who is unable to attend.

No refund or discounts are offered if the participant chooses to attend the course and not undertake the examination.

Any pre-course reading information that is requested at a later date will incur an administrative charge of $25.00 + GST.

The current pass mark is 70% for all NZIBS Core Module Exam.

For those who are unsuccessful in the NZIBS Core Module Exam and have achieved a mark between 55 – 69%, you will be required to undertake an exam resit. There is a three month stand down period. NZIBS run exam resits quarterly, in the main centres. Exam resit registrations close on the 1st of the month, prior to the exam resit date.

If you achieved 54% and under you will need to complete the course again. NZIBS will offer those students a substantial discount off the registration fee.
