Joining the Institute

There are currently three types of membership:

1) Registered Membership

2) Transitional Membership

3) Student Membership

Clicking on each of the titles above will download a .pdf file describing that level of membership, and the pre-requisites for both joining at that level, and maintaining membership.

For instance, a pre-requisite for continuing Registered Membership of the Institute is that the member shall carry Professional Indemnity Insurance, or be Indemnified for the Building Surveying work being undertaken by the member. In conjunction with forwarding the annual CPD statement and current work verification form, there is a requirement to provide a signed declaration confirming that the member has current Professional Indemnity Insurance, or that the member is Indemnified for claims made against him/her whilst undertaking Building Surveying Work.

Another pre-requisite of continuing Registered Membership of the Institute is that the member shall be actively involved in the work of a Building Surveyor.
